About GHP
The Giles Hunter Partnership was created from the well-established firm of Giles Hunter Power & Co that has operated in the Stanley, Chester le Street and Consett areas for a period in excess of 20 years. It was created to ensure the steady expansion of private and commercial legal work within the areas of Derwentside and Chester le Street.
We consist of two Partners and their experienced support staff. Mr Giles Hunter and Mr John Sheehan are Solicitor Partners with over 50 years experience between them and have recently formed The Giles Hunter Partnership with the express purpose of providing excellent legal services in the fields of Conveyancing, Personal Injury, Wills and Probate, Divorce and Matrimonial work together with commercial legal services.
Our work is complimented by provision of efficient IT services but we endeavour to ensure that the personal service to our clients continues to be our main priority.
The Giles Hunter Partnership operates from two offices. Mr John Sheehan runs and operates our Chester le Street office whilst Mr Giles Hunter is the Partner in charge of our Consett office.
Giles C. Hunter
Giles Hunter is the Partner in the charge of the Consett office. He has over 30 years experience as a Solicitor both in the areas of Local Authority work as well as private practice. He was the original founder of the firm of Giles Hunter Power & Co, which was established in 1980.
He will be your point of contact should you wish to instruct him or obtain advice on any problems relating to Personal Injury, Matrimonial or Commercial matters.
Lynda Sheehan
Lynda Sheehan is Head of the Conveyancing and Residential Services Department which she established in 1990. Her commitment and enthusiasm has seen it become the largest within the Giles Hunter Partnership. She has been with the firm for 15 years and in the legal profession for some 30 years in total.
She is approachable and believes that a personal, friendly approach, together with a commitment to keep regular contact with the clients, is the hallmark oif a successful department.
John D. U. Sheehan
John Sheehan is the second Partner in The Giles Hunter Partnership and is based at the Chester le Street office where he specialises in Commercial and Residential Conveyancing together with Wills and Probate. He has been a Solicitor in excess of 20 years and has extensive experience in private practice in the fields of Wills, Probate together with Residential and Commercial Conveyancing.
John is approachable and is always willing to provide advice on Conveyancing and Probate matters. He was originally a Partner in P. Welsh & Co before joining The Giles Hunter Partnership.
Brian Dancer Practice Manager
Brian Dancer is our Practice Manager and has been with the firm in excess of 5 years. He is also Head of Accounts. He is committed to the expansion and improvement of the IT facilities within the firm and, in common with the rest of the Organisation, is committed to the improvement of legal services to the general public.
